Preserving Made Simple: Smarter Methods & Less Time
Do you think food preservation means long, sweaty hours over a hot stove? Think again. This class will introduce you to a range of practical preservation methods, including canning, freezing, dehydrating, fermenting, live storage, and more, without the overwhelm. You'll learn which techniques work best for different foods, how to streamline your process to be more efficient, and tools to help you save time and effort. This class isn't necessarily a deep dive into the step-by-step of each method, but rather the focus is on making smart food preservation choices to get your harvest "put up" quickly and safely.
Date: Thursday, Sept. 18
Time: 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Ages: High School and up
Location: Middle School Library, Entrance #2

Mike promotes permaculture homesteading with an emphasis on high rewards for less effort. He teaches, writes, and experiments with ways to homestead with a lighter footprint. He lives in northern Wisconsin and tends a big garden, greenhouse, and flock of chickens. He also instructs various classes with the Nicolet College Outdoor Adventure Program in Rhinelander.
