Tap, Boil & Pour: Intro to Making Maple Syrup
You can make delicious maple syrup with just a couple of trees and some simple equipment. A local homesteader will teach you the basics of how maple syrup is made, what tools and equipment you will need, and how to make syrup in your backyard. Participants will head outside to learn how to tap trees, then review a simple boiling rig.

Instructor: Mike Haasl
Mike Haasl promotes permaculture homesteading with an emphasis on high rewards for less effort. He teaches, writes and experiments with ways to homestead with a lighter footprint. He lives in northern Wisconsin and tends a big garden, greenhouse and flock of chickens. He also instructs various classes with the Nicolet College Outdoor Adventure Program in Rhinelander.
