Cross Country Ski Clinic
Brought to you by Coasters Cycle Works in Tomahawk, participants will learn the basics of cross-country skiing. The instructor will introduce Nordic skiing to families ages 10 and up. Participants will be able to achieve a Nordic skiing experience to enhance their ability for future sport skiing or recreation.
Equipment is available for you to use at no extra charge, or you may bring your own equipment if you’d prefer. If you do not have your own skis, please contact Mike Bellile at 715-224-3522 and provide your height, weight, and shoe size, or stop by Coasters Cycle Works in Tomahawk to get fit prior to Saturday, February 21, and equipment will be provided for you.
Date: Saturday, Feb. 21
Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Ages: 10 and up. Participants younger than 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Fee: $25/person
Registration Deadline: Friday, Feb. 13
Location: Park in the High School Parking Lot and enter at Door #27 to meet up for this class (School Forest Trails/Fields)
Instructor: Mike Bellile, Coasters Cycle Works
Mike is an avid recreational Nordic skier. His goal when out skiing is not to be the fastest skier but to embrace the aerobic activity of touring through the fresh air of nature while still focusing on good form and technique. Mike has taught younger and older adults XC skiing at the college level. In the winter of 2013 he ran a free “Kids on Skis” program for youth, ages 5-11 in the local community. Mike curates his lessons to encompass his training with the Professional Ski Instructors of America, and from years of personal skiing experience.
