Sweaters 2 Mittens
In this hands-on sewing class, participants will learn to design, cut, and sew their own pair of beautiful fleece-lined, wool mittens. Tips and techniques will be shared with you that the instructor has learned over the past 18 years. Basic sewing skills are required for this class. Participants should plan to bring a sewing machine and know how to use it. Contact the Program Coordinator if you need help with this. 6 take-home patterns for mittens (plus instructions) are also given to you! After-care for mittens will be provided.
You will need to provide your own materials for this class:
Sewing machine
Sewing supplies (Pins, scissors, hand sewing needle, thread)
1 - 100% wool-felted sweater (washed and dried in hot water/hot air)
1⁄3 yard of fleece (your preference of color & design to go with the sweater you choose!)
Participants under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult (who is also registered for this class).
